New to Hank Williams Sr.

Can anyone recommend a good greatest hits compilation of his work to start with? There are so many in existence I am not sure which one to get.

That's the problem: they've been releasing 'Greatest Hits' collections every two or three years since the day he died. Best recommendation I can give you is just choose the one with the most big titles on it: 'Your Cheating Heart,' 'So Lonesome I Could Cry,' 'Move It On Over,' 'Howlin' At The Moon,' 'Lost Highway,' 'Setting The Woods On Fire,' 'Hey Good Looking,' 'Lonesome Whistle,' and so forth.

The only thing I would point out to someone new to his work is that you may not like the tracks he recorded as 'Luke The Drifter;' they're mostly maudlin 'recitations,' which were quite popular in the 1950s, but new fans may be disappointed that they tend to contain more talking than singing.

- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.
