IIRC, in the UK, I think you need to have a good reason to be carrying one and it can't have a locking blade.

A replacement remote for my BluRay player.

Second replacement I've had to buy. The original was accidentally dropped into liquid; the first replacement just up & stopped working a few weeks ago for some reason (not a battery issue). It was only a couple of years old.
