Has aged a lot

Im only on season 5 of house so the difference between photos of him now and on the show is about 8 years.. but holy crap, he looks so white in the face and his wrinkles are awful.. he looks sick.. i love him dont get me wrong, but would 8 years really do that to someone?

reply

What an incredibly rude thing to say! He does look a bit older, sure, but it's really not that bad imo. Also what do you mean 8 years? The last season was filmed 4 years ago... Sure, you're only on season 5 but you certainly know. It's on his page on here after all...

reply

Rude ... to whom? You? Laurie? Do you think he reads this. I think perceptions like that are OK. Why do you feel you have to defend him? This thing where people identify more with celebrities and stars than they do with real people in their lives is kind of scary.

reply

I was comparing to what he looked like in 2008 to 2016, i wasnt trying to be rude. Im just saying he does look sick. Idk if theres been drug issues or something

reply

Even if so, that's not my impression. Also I'm currently watching season 7 and I don't think he looked that much older than at the beginning of the show and there's already 7 years (obvs) between the seasons... As of now, he does look older, yeah, but I don't think he looks sick. Also, you are aware of the fact that he's 57(ok, will be in a few days, but still...), right? People are allowed to look a bit older in their late-ish fifties, I think.

reply

? People are allowed to look a bit older in their late-ish fifties, I think.

Yep ... and people are allowed to comment on other people's appearance ... especially in a career that is all about looks and superficiality.

reply

Hugh looks as though he's in his late 60's, not 57. Rude or not (and they were not) he looks well past his 57 years. He's aged 30 years in past 15. Perhaps he was ill or had an addiction issue.
We can observe have different opinions, and it really is not rude.

Jack's not dead! Jack would never die without telling me, first!

He worked almost nonstop for 8 years or so. That has to do things to you.

I rec' some very minor procedures and some time off. And
quitting smoking would help as well.

reply

Perhaps you are just more used to the plastic-looking results of those seeking to avoid the radishes of aging.

I do think it's inappropriate to cast casual references such as 'perhaps it's a drug addiction problem' or other nonsense. People age. You will too, if you live long enough. Whether or not you have a drug addiction problem.

reply

He's been in the public eye for decades, and there has never been the slightest hint of any sort of drug addiction problem. He's admitted to fighting depression for many years, and he seems to be a fairly heavy smoker (it's been mentioned in various interviews), and heavy smoking can age one. Also, he spent eight years on a show where he was the star, exec. producer and sometimes director. And add to that, he was living his life between two continents.

All in all…he still looks good to me. And I've seen him up close.

reply

If you ask me, he looks terrific for someone his age. I've seen men almost a decade younger than him looking like raisins... Which he really does not.

Does he look old to you here? (Not most recent, from 2014, but still...)

I was dismayed. He looks almost seedy in Chance. Maybe that's deliberate; I don't know. I love him as an actor. But I hate the reminder that time flies for all of us.

reply

yeah, he looks creepy in Chance, but that might be part of the role. It was an interesting series, but with no real point, and kind of weird and creepy. The old black guy got weirder and weirder, as did ... I forget his name ... D. A strange bunch.
