Men are so weak

This is what Lori Beth says to Richie when she explains that she could forgive the cheating but not the lying in Casanova Cunningham.

Myself, I couldn’t use that justification.

Season 6.

That's all you need to know.

They are one in the same really. Could you really imagine something like "Hey Lori Beth, I'd like to see another woman, are you ok with that?"

reply

Which is what Ron Howard says to his girlfriend in American Graffiti, the movie that ultimately led to the creation of Happy Days!

reply

I only saw that film once and got bored with it! I got the impression that a lot of Happy Days was taken from the film though, not just the 50's setting in general.

Back on topic you probably could approach your partner with the idea of seeing someone else now but would have to be prepared for an equal open relationship, another reason not to ask in the first place lol.

reply

Yes. Any time I even ponder the possibility, I ask what I would think of my wife being with someone else, would I be able to deal with it? The answer, of course, is, I don't want to find out.

reply

I think I would have to take the relationship less seriously if that was how it was going to be. I don't think I could be with someone and at times we say "Hey honey, I'm going off to bang what's their name tonight, see you later!"

Given the example is set within a TV show in the 50's or 60's I would say it would be even more unlikely that they would be cool with an open relationship.

It might sound ironic but I think if you really do respect your partner but just have to have what you want than go to the effort to hide it! Spare their feelings.
