GREATEST

. . .cure for insomnia known to man.

No. Televised golf.

reply

You, madame, have never played the game.

reply

Sir, actually. And I did not say golf was boring to play. It is dreadfully dull to watch other people play in broken segments as narrated in somnolent whispers.

reply

I'll bet this was one time when it wasn't boring to watch - http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/5/8/2/4/2/ar121890371824285.jpg

Try to follow me here: because you don't play, you do not appreciate the extraordinary abilities of the professional golfer, nor the complexity of thought involved with every shot and putt, nor the any other of the intricacies and challenges of the game. And the "somnolent whispers," (love your use of language, sir) are a critical part of the atmosphere which you would know had you ever attended such an event.

Um...if it was so boring to watch, why do sponsors line-up and fight for commercial time during televised events? Because no one is watching?

Let this one go, mbell. Let it go. ..

If you can play it in street clothes, and smoke and drink while you're playing, it's not a real sport. I'm only in my sixties, so not old enough to play golf yet. Maybe when I'm eighty.

reply

It's not a movie for dumb people, that's for sure.

reply

It's a movie to see once. It was certainly something.
