Was Natalie Wood cut from the pilot in syndication?

The episode description on TiVo for the first episode (of the 2 episode pilot) indicates that she appears in that one (she did not -- at least in the version aired on COZI).

I didn't see her in the second episode of the pilot either.

Where should she have been (so I can re-examine to make sure)??

Thanks.

At one point Jonathan calls Max. Max is on a studio lot and multiple characters walk by with one liners. Natalie Wood is dressed as Scarlett O'Hara in that scene.

Wow, so it WAS cut from syndication.

In that scene, only 3 actors approached Max at the studio ... a pair of Nazis (to whom he said "Shalom") and an Indian Chief (who was admiring the Rolls and petting Freeway) to whom he advised there was a Hertz location down the street, lol.

Does anyone know WHY she was cut in syndication? Because the circumstances of her death and Wagner's possible involvement??

reply

She was cut because when the syndicated channels air them they have to cut out scenes to pay for commercials. That part of that scene was the easiest to cut. I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with her death.

If you want to watch it, the pilot is on YouTube in its entirety right now. She does appear in her scene in the YouTube version.

If you ever get the chance to watch the pilot complete with commentary from Wagner, Powers, and the director Mankiewicz, watch it. It's a great addition to the first season DVD collection.
