The funniest of the franchise

I don't much care for the series after A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors - so it's just the first 3 pictures that I enjoy. But if I had to choose which is the best of the trio I'd pick A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge every time. It simply never fails to entertain me.

Who could not like:

- The most uncool tidy-up dance ever committed to celluloid
- An exploding parakeet
- Kuato getting stripped, whipped and shredded in the school showers
- The pool party carnage
- "Help yourself, fùcker!"
- Jesse screaming like, well, a big jessie
- Crazy dogs
- The terror on the passengers' faces as Freddy bounces across the desert terrain in the school bus.

Mark Patton is excellent as the tortured teen son; not to mention it contains the best Freddy make-up. I must add that the film's greatest scene is when Fred gatecrashes the pool party. Good lord, this part is littered with amusing moments: random slashing; a guest's face being used as a stepping-aid for escaping teens; a guy falling from a wall and being engulfed by flames - but the best scene has to be when the have-a-go-hero tries to reason with Fred, and gets slashed and tossed onto a hot barbecue grill for his efforts. Su-fùckin-perb!

Kuato getting stripped, whipped and shredded in the school showers

That's hilarious. I can't believe I never realized it was the same guy (it's been years since I've seen Total Recall, but from what I remember, he looked almost exactly the same in it) Weird.

As unintentionally funny as this movie is, I still like it more than any of the other sequels. In a lot of ways it's ridiculous and I'd never argue that it isn't, but its good elements outweigh the "bad" (which is more than can be said for most of the later movies... at least in terms of still holding up)

I find the movie more comical that scary. This is my least favorite of the series. But, every Halloween I watch the whole series and this one is part of it.

I find the scene at the pool party dumb because it breaks the whole Freddy attacking in dreams rule. It ruins the whole movie in my book.
