Martin got the drop on Ben

Rather easily....don’t you think?

reply

Right? When Ben came crashing in and jumped on Martin with the element of surprise, I thought he had the upper hand....but instead, he got his ass handed to him.

reply

Yeah that’s what I Thought when I first saw the movie.

reply

Yep Ben was a wuss.

reply

He was. But how was Martin so good? Wasn’t he a finance analyst or something?

reply

Being a psycho has its advantages.

reply

Yeah I guess. His money may have afforded him martial arts lessons

reply

I'm surprised at how Martin got the drop on everyone, whether through intimidation or manipulation. He seemed like a completely different person until he found out Laura was alive. He may be a wife beater, but harming 3 random people he barely knew, and not to mention including potentially trying to murder one for the hell of it (Laura's Mother) seemed out of character for him compared to the first half of the film. If that was really how he was, he should have been MUCH more selfish like the husband in Enough.

reply

Yeah the more he got challenged, the more his world was rattled the more the real Martin came to the surface.

I think he was just willing to sacrifice more than the average person. Hence why he seemed more intimidating/tough than his demeanor suggested.
