SPOILER question about Sirius Black - Why did Sirius want to kill Harry? And five minutes later he's hugging Harry.

I know it was after Harry found out about Wormtail that he had no more hard feelings for Sirius.

And how did Sirius know that Wormtail was a rat and was in the room with them?

Sirius never wanted to kill Harry, he wanted to protect Harry and to kill an old enemy of his that happened to be near Harry.

As to how Sirius twigged his old enemy, watch the movie or read the book again, and pay attention this time.
