How bad will ratings be next season?

For a third thing, as I've attempted to explain (apparently to no avail) to people on this board a number of times, the concerns and sensibilities of the British general public are not those of American conservatives. Even the Tories have stopped attempting to push US-style 'culture wars' on the electorate here because their own internal surveys have demonstrated it's a turn-off even with their own core voters. It doesn't work. The electorate isn't interested.

shareThe BBC is a public service broadcaster. The nearest equivalent to the BBC in the US is probably PBS. Ratings are only one of many factors that go into decisions around its programming. I can assure you that Doctor Who is safe from cancellation in the near and medium future. It's one of the BBC's most important properties and a cornerstone of British popular culture.
And again, I would emphasise my third point, which is the vital point: the British general public do not share the concerns and sensibilities of American conservatives.
