horrible show. the epitome of the bad crime drama

this show is so cliche, so bland, so generic, so poorly made. it's like every crappy tv crime series ran through a computer and formulated thru an algorithm to make the most by-the-numbers crime show in history. everyone is a sexy modelesque actor clearly hired for their looks, and they stand around with concerned faces with their perfectly combed hair-do's and finely shaven facial hair. every villain is written around cliches, stereotypes, and shit we've all seen before a million times. the show is so overly directed and everyone thinks they're giving oscar-worthy performances with their "...my god! what does it all mean!?!?" facial expressions, but they just look like people at channel awesome on a doug walker picture. most of all, the show's attempt at being funny is painful. cant believe this ran for 15 years.

Hahaha!

My favourite is when they present the profile and they each give a line. That was really bad in the early seasons.

so what?

The title itself was always a misnomer to me. They didn't seem particularly intelligent or good at what they did. How many investigations ended via the use of brute force, usually a way of giving the black dude something to do?

And the fat chick. All she did was use Google for just about everything? Not to mention the sickening flirting between her and black guy.

This show reeks of awesomeness and say what you will about the actors but you have nothing on the gifted Mandy Patinkin he's more skilled at acting than anyone you've probably ever seen. This show is also pretty legit at showcasing the value of profiling. Sure, this show does go overboard in saying that the BAU's profiles are so 100% accurate that they catch the Unsub every episode but again this show is meant to highlight the value of profiling and that if it's done right you got a sporting chance. This isn't like other shows imo where the police catch the perp without real explanation they just kind of leap to conclusions but the level of detail in how the BAU catch their unsub is pretty awesome. Of course it usually ends in bloodshed they deal with serial killers not petty criminals.

Great post. I agree with your assessment about Mandy Patinkin. I understand his reasons for wanting to leave the show but I really missed him. Joe Mantegna was a superb replacement. But I always missed Mandy!
