I've never watched Game of Thrones, not sure if I must, but heard of all about it. However, just finished the first season, I really enjoyed it.
The mythology is great, and I love dragon's so seeing them in action is always enjoyable.
Looking forward to season two.
Season 2-4 of Game of Thrones are actually better as the first season of House of the Dragon and quite similar. Season 1+5 are on same level. It just got downhill with season 7, which is still better as many other series out there, just a letdown after the great seasons before.
Anyway, if you haven't watched them and are keen to do so, you will very likely enjoy them, as you liked season 1 of HotD. But be aware, that there is a major spoiler for the end of HotD (Season 3, Episode 4 around minute 15). It is just a minor thing and without HotD background would go unnoticed. Anyway, the story is already very detailed out there in the form of books.
Btw: if you like reading books, the books are absolute recommendations.
