just started watching this show with my husband. we love it. why didn't it last longer? such a great show. definitely would be happy if it came back

shareI believe that it had nothing to do with another show being pitched to Fox but rather the writer's strike that happened during it's 3rd season. Same reason why many other shows got axed.

shareAgree, please bring it back. It was much too good of a series, with so many likable characters, to discontinue it so soon. It was a great premise, and wonderful that people didn't always have to be murdered for the show to be interesting. I would love to see this come back.
shareNow, ducks for cover, I loved Lie to Me and devoured the first two series, however if you look at Cal in series one, then look at him again in Series 3.
It's as if the plots got so thin they had to mask it with Lightman's over-acting. It has been said elsewhere about when did this series start going downhill and it really was series 3. Now many shows have a bad season and get a reprieve, look at Dexter 03 Vs. 04, and you will know what I mean.
Sadly Series 4 never came and Lie to Me was left on a downer, never a good thing.
No offense meant to those who love it still, if they had canned it after series 2 I would have also been waving the flags as at that point it was still a masterpiece.

OMFG. My wife and I watched every episode and bought the discs and the find out they cancelled the show. I was ready to go to the studio and go all PTSD on them. BRING IT BACK
sharelol I felt the same way. Saw it forever on the Netflix lineup and finally watched it and was instantly hooked.
But it figures. This is what always happens. Find a great show for a change and of course it gets cancelled after just a few seasons. I hate getting so invested for so little.
