when did this show really fail

Or what aspects do you think most contributed.

I think Madison leaving in Season 4, along with them trying stylized storytelling. Instead of just telling the story, they got hung up on trying to find a different frame for each episode to make it "clever"

reply

I always thought Madison leaving was the best thing for the show, Bringing her back was/is the worst

Alicia was getting boring

Getting rid of John was a bad idea

Episode 4

reply

Yes.

For me, it mostly failed from the beginning, then S4 came around and revitalized/reinvented/re-everything'd it into fucking brilliance. S5 managed to keep that up for a little bit, but it slowly dwindled again into blah. But man, S4 with Morgan and John and Al and the back-and-forth between their stories and the baseball stadium, that was an outstanding season of television.

reply

They really screwed up with killing John off. What a massive boo boo that was.

Signed, million man.

reply

Garret Dillahunt probably saw the scripts for the new seasons and wanted out ASAP. To bad, John Dorie was one of the best characters.

reply

S4. It never got any better after that.

reply

"Nine days later" Once they hit that and skipped the entire premise of the show, it failed.

reply

it got dumb towards the end of season 3, which ended up making that "cliffhanger" season finale a great place to stop watching

reply

In the episode when they got drunk, started playing the piano, and attracted every zombie in the building!!!

reply

They heard the piano and started falling off the balconies from the rooms. As though there had never been a noise before the piano that would have drawn them off the balcony. Sigh.

reply

Sheesh - talk about music critics!!!

reply

I thought the season after that where John Dorie and Morgan met up was the best season of that show. I was just trying to watch episode 2 of the new season, and it is truly horrible and revolting. They should just shut it down.
