I feel its outdated casting white guys as heros.
We need to think new, fresh and out of the box. A black woman was cast as 007.
I would love a Black Reacher.
Alan Ritchson did a god job but white men are anti heros. I.e the bad guys were perfectly cast.

That's definitely progress, though not nearly enough.
Most of the bad guys were white or white Hispanic but there was one black guy who turned out to bad. But he was killed by the black cop. So it's all good.

shareI disagree. I don't want a "black" Jack Reacher. I'd rather have a black hero who has his own story, his own persona, and his own agenda. Make him original, not a black actor taking over a white role...and yes, I am a Black American...

shareWhat damn difference does it make what color Reacher is? The truth is, it's always mostly white guys who get to play these lone-wolf, tough-guy-who-plays-by-his-own-rules type of roles. A black Reacher would be a little more interesting to see for the simple fact he wouldn't be able to get away with all of the stuff a white Reacher could. And being a black man in a small Southern town, he would definitely be watched and hassled a hack of lot more by the local police, and be forced to fight harder to prove his innocence from any accusations. We're seen the big tough white guy hero's story more than a thousand damn times already----literally nothing new there. You would see a black Reacher have to deal with issues just being a black man in the South that a white Reacher would never even have to think of, which would make the show a little more interesting to watch. Physically, the Rock could pull off the role, but I think a fresher face with similar attributes could do it just as well.
