A casting call has allegedly went out to actors and extras asking if they're "comfortable with nudity?" Some Lord of the Rings fans fear that Amazon's J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation will be like Game of Thrones, the show that inspired the term "sexposition." Lord of the Rings fans consider the Tolkien series the anti-Game of Thrones. "Is Amazon trying to capitalize on the success of the extremely horny Game of Thrones by shoving some sex scenes into the notoriously chaste Tolkien saga?" asks Brittany Knupper. "If true, Tolkien might have to return from the great beyond faster than Gandalf the White post-Balrog stomping. See, Tolkien was a DIE HARD Catholic (he was the one that converted TS Eliot to Christianity) and rumored asexual. A big, red flag, though not unexpected. One of the great things about Tolkien's works is the absolute absence of sexual elements. Romantic elements, while present (barely), are extremely few and far between, and low-key when they happen. And it really is refreshing to have stories not burdened with romantic interests left, right and centre. Don't use Tolkien as a backdrop for another Game of Thrones, there already is a Game of Thrones. It ran for eight seasons, it was great, mostly. Just leave sex and torture porn out of Middle Earth. And yes, that does mean no LGBT characters, because LGBT implies sexual preference, and that only distracts from the story. No one is stated as being straight in Tolkien's works either, so if you want one of the characters to be gay for some reason, you are free to imagine it on your own if you are so inclined. But Tolkien never wrote about sex or arousal. As a result, there is something more dignified about his writing, which is part of the appeal.

Are we sure that an overwhelmingly erotic Middle Earth experience is such a bad thing? The answer is an obvious and resounding YES, of course we're sure about that. It sounds like fan fiction of the worst sort, written one-handed.
