Their first 3 albums are bangers.

Their last 2 not so much.

Why they don’t make music anymore

The drummer has different political beliefs now and the band felt it went against what they stood for.

I recall that the singer Serj is a woke MSNBC liberal (great singer, but horrible political views). My guess is the drummer is a Republican then

reply

I don't know if he's an all-out Republican, but he voiced his love for Trump.

ONE OF ALI'S FAVORITE BANDS...I ALSO LOVE THEM...ENJOY ALL THEIR WORK.

reply

I've been a fan since their first album. I'm old as shit.

The TOXICITY sessions set the bar too high.

I was them when they headlined for Ozzfest (because Sharen got sick, Ozzy left the tour for a while, and no one was sure if Ozzy would show up or not); well, my friends and I lucked out and there was a two-hour set for System and another two-hour set for Ozzy in Cali.

Good times, bad sunburn.

I didn't know there were so many SOAD fans here.

While in high school (a year before the above-mentioned concert), a classmate of mine was a cousin of the guitarist. I was asked if I liked SOAD, and I straight up said "They SUCK"... mind you, I was totally in my strict 80's metal-only phase. For a second, I saw what I said crushed him, but that was quickly replaced by "WTF" lol.

Then a few months later, the band came out with their single, 'Toxicity', and it made me appreciate them more. Their set was prolly one of my top favorites ever... It was akin to what I would think of going to those awesome 80's concerts (and at the time, I'd already seen [post-2000] RATT, Megadeth, The Tubes, Quiet Riot, Ozzy w/ Zakk, and a whole bunch of other contemporary bands, etc).

It was an amazing experience... the 2nd hand weed prolly helped a little too.

Were you able to make it to a show?

reply

Never made it to a show. When I was in high school I only had one friend that was a fan of theirs. All my other rocker friends were into lame Nu-metal bands.
