I'm not saying she's going to act badly in the role, but this casting is ridiculous. Kaitlyn Denver would have been a perfect Ellie, but instead she's playing Abby who, in the game, is basically a female head photoshopped onto a ripped male's body. This casting makes no sense.
One can't speak on this because I've never seen "The Last of Us".
However, I can speak of Kaitlyn Dever. I saw her recently in the Hulu Miniseries "Dopesick".
She was outstanding. If you check out "Dopesick" you'll be amazed at her range. Definitely one of the best twenty-something actresses I know of.
She's good and like I said I don't think the acting is going to be the problem. If you watched Game of Thrones think about swapping the actress that played Cersei Lannister with the one that played Brienne of Tarth and yet everything else is the same, like people constantly commenting on how big and strong she is and her showing great feats of strength.
That's why it's bad.
I'd love to join in with you Semi but unfortunately I've never seen Game of Thrones either.
But back to Kaitlyn, from what I saw of her in "Dopesick" I think she can pretty much handle anything.
She showed a ton of range in that miniseries. Really good young actress.
She is a good actress, I agree she would have been the perfect choice to play Ellie but it is what ti is. Looking forward to seeing how they do Abby in the show.
