One of my friends claim he is nine because he is referred to as "the boy reporter" but I think that's absurd as he fires gun, (sometimes) drinks alcohol and drives cars. I think he's around 18-25 and when he's called "boy" that's just a term of affection as he still is quite youthful.

I mean, his face is very boyish, and he's usually refered to as a boy, but he's manly at the same time.
lol maybe I'm crazy but I've noticed that he has these gigantic arm muscles = P
But he's not in school and he has no parents.. so iunno.

Look at the American comic book "Archie", the main title character is a red haired boy, like Tintin, but he is clearly about 16 or 17, has parents, goes to school, has friends his own age, and does things that most youngsters that age normally do! Tintin on the other hand is not like that at all.

I would probably say he is in his early twenties. Supposedly the back-story to his character is that he is an ex-Belgian fighter pilot (explains how he can fly planes so well) and that he became a journalist after his foray into the Soviet Union (as shown in the book Tintin in the Land of the Soviets).
shareThere isn't a number...some say 16, others claim 25...to me he was always 18 or 19...it's hard to tell becouse there are no time references...you never know how much time went by between a book and the next...

the real question is how old is that captian lol hes alway drunk and angry. its like back to the future kinda thing, why would an old man be hanging out with a teen age boy. seems kinda creepy and weird.

Tintin I'd say would be in his early 20s. He lives alone, has a reporting job, fires a gun, drives cars, drinks sometimes.
Haddock I'd reckon would be in his 40s or 50s
Tintin was first serialized in 1929 so I guess it is 86 years old by now.
