Watching one of the best #Supernatural episodes I've ever seen. ALL. THE. FEELINGS! Bravo @jarpad and @JensenAckles

Yep. Part of the two part finale on May 18

. @JensenAckles deserves all the awards. That scene... 👏👏😥#needtofixmymakeup

Brother moments are the best. #Supernatural

Damn it. Now @jarpad made me cry. I just touched up my makeup too. I need to go hug some people.

Sounds to me like someone's doing damage control because people have been complaining about the lack of Sam and Dean and brother moments.

😒 We'll see.

🙄 I don't trust it.

😠 This is after all, Season Sam n' Dean Who?

Did they just scramble to tack on a brother moment at the 11th hour?

Thoughts?

Sorry guys. "The Future"'s got me in a mood lol. 🤡

This seems to be their go to plan on every finale, which makes them hollow gestures when the rest of the season doesn't show that.

I feel ya.

I didn't have any issue with the season 10 finale, I think it was in line with the rest of the season.
Season 11 finale didn't bother creating a brother moment whatsoever while the season itself was chock full of hem.
Season 12 had little in the way of brother moments which is why all these tears seem like 11th hour type damage control. Brother fans have been complaining about the lack of brother moments quite a bit and even brought it to the Js attention.
I don't know we'll see. A finale without broment is completely worthless to me anyway so they better make it good.

Yeah, I was mostly talking about this season, which has been devoid of much brother interaction. I guess there was that scene at the end of the last episode, but that seemed out of place too given the rest of the season.

reply

Yeah, the second carving of the initials didn't work for me either.

I have a feeling that Dabb has heard all the complaints (hopefully from higher ups since he has a very low opinion of fans) but couldn't really change much since the scripts were already handed in. Tacking on a broment will be too little too late I'm afraid. Carver was always able to pull that off (however, whether you liked the storyline or not he made sure it always focused on the brothers ). He could at least salvage the finale even if the build up to it wasn't the best. Dabb isn't that talented. At least he hasn't shown that kind of capability so far.

It does almost have a feeling of "whoops, we forgot to tell the story of Sam and Dean. Better fix that".

I hope so too because he brushed off fan complaints about "Alpha and Omega", EVEN when he knew the 4 regulars had to get on the phone with him about that same episode, proof that there was something wrong with it.

Outside of the abomination that was the first half of season 8, I will agree that Carver managed to focus on the brothers in 8B, 9, 10 and 11. He certainly got good at it in 10 and 11 imo.

My personal opinion as to why the show got better in 10 and 11 was because Singer retired and Glass moved on. For the first time since Carver rejoined the show it was his alone. And then sometime mid season 11 he left. And we all saw what happened when Dabb took over.
