The Best In-game Narration Ever

Leonard Nimoy absolutely killed it with his narration in Civilization 4. Sean Bean did fine but Leonard Nimoy is the undisputed master. It's
almost been 20 years and it has yet to be surpassed.

Has it been 20 years? Fuuuuuck. Haven't played one since. The recent ones any good?

It's crazy but it's just about been two decades now.

Civ 5 changed the game to more of a simplistic table top warfare game with one unit per tile and hexagons instead of square tiles. There was less depth than 4 but it was good at what it did.

On paper 6 should be a better game than 5, with basically the same premise but the addition of many more mechanics to bring back depth to the game, like districts (basically specialty buildings like banks and barracks) and wonders being built on tiles outside of the city square. Unfortunately the AI was terrible from launch and never got fixed, to the extent that even deity mode is easy.

4 is probably the best still. There's nothing like running a specialist economy, light bulbing to liberalism and then picking nationalism so that you can draft rifleman and demolish all of the other civilizations still in the medieval era.
