I agree with Beauq, that's the main reason I watched and continued to stay the duration was because of the brilliant chemistry between its leads. Also the supporting cast around them were second to none. Jensen and Jared are like brothers off set, and are very close and you can see that they are. They still do conventions together three years after the show finished, so what does that say about them and the show. No disrespect to Sera Gamble, but she was the Showrunner for those two seasons. It's been a while since I have watched them both but one problem was that she took the car off air for nearly a whole season which at the time angered fans as the car is just as much a part of the show than the boys. Yes, The Leviathans were crap and a big turn off. Also the death of Bobby angered a lot of fans too. Sera also found it hard to write story arcs and wrote per single episode mainly doing monster of the weeks. Both seasons were poor compared to earlier ones, they could have been much stronger. Sera I always thought was a brilliant solo writer, but not a great show-runner. This of course, is just my opinion... I could never see fans interest in Garth, he was one of those characters like Claire who really annoyed me in the end. I think he was over used. But, yes, to Ellen Rufus and Robert England he should have had way more screen time than he got. Donna first off was a character I just couldn't warm too. But then as her character grew, something changed in me about her. I think also seeing her at conventions for real, it gave me a chance to get to know the real her and changed my mind. I love Donna and Jodi together both on and off screen, they have a magical friendship. I'm not entirely sure. Not watched it, but know it's on re-runs at the minute. I think they are Cousins from memory. Yes. Not the Seventies version though. It's a slowburner, give it a chance. There is action! Walker Indepence is a spin-off of Walker it's written by the same writing team and crew. There was talk of a spin-off involving Claire or Charlie I don't think some how that would have been that well received. I agree with you Alycat about Misha he was at his best during those earlier seasons. I loved Bella hence where my ID name originates from. Not many in the fandom liked her because she always got one over on the boys, but that's what made it exciting to watch. See what she would come up with next. Those scratch cards were one moment I just creased up laughing. Dean was so furious! Both Robert and Kurt Fuller were the best match and one of the best castings of the series. I would agree with Henriksen and Uriel. I would also go along with Balthazar, Azazel, Adam, the original Death and Cain. So many great characters to think about I get lost. I still find it hard to watch S6/7 and still can't watch season 8 after Carver giving Sam a hard time I just hated the writing for that. Also Amelia rubbed me up the wrong way, and couldn't warm to her one bit. I just couldn't get over Sam not looking for Dean and the mobile phone saga where he just ignored them. 11,12 and 13 are like over my head. Odd episodes were strong but season arcs were weak. I expected much more from Andrew Dabb, as he used to be an awesome writer early seasons. One of these days I will go back and re-watch. Snoopy I would have put S10 in there because I think strongly that 9/10 are back to back and follow Dean's character from the Mark of Cain through to Demon Dean. Both of which are my fav seasons after the first five years. Both brothers were meant to jump into the pit and save the world. Except only Sam went in with Adam. That was the whole point, that they were not in control. That's what made it creepy, twisted and any other word that I can't think of. The writers wanted you to feel bad for the boys that they were being used as pawns in his game. It also made them aware of how monsters could twist their lives, and use them when they felt like it. Who would have thought that God was the evil bad guy who wrote the story of two poster boys who lived on a hamster wheel going round and round. But what surprised me, that it took them long enough to work it out that they were being used. God writing endings are hard he knew how he wanted to end their story, if he wanted to make them into heroes or myths. Either way God couldn't get any more twisted and a man without any feeling that he could day in day out make their lives a living hell. Kripke sort of started that story back in S5 and God ending up without any power gave him the ending he totally deserved. So NO, I don't think it was terrible, it was pure awesomeness wrapped up in chaos.... I loved how God had written both their lives, that I thought was rather genius writing. It made me look at this show differently. I had my doubts with Rob playing God, I still don't think he played him as a villain as well as he could have. I also get what your saying about Cas and Lucifer overstaying their welcome since they couldn't wait to get rid of Crowley for less. Bringing back dead characters became lame Bobby cough Bobby is a prime example. Fan service gone OTT. I did however, love S5+10. I also have my reservations about the prequel. He's signing autographs Jensen said, so I think he's better than we think he is. I don't think he's laid up in bed anything like that. Articles haven't even said what day it happened. But he wasn't the driver and Jensen said he saw the car afterwards. So no one has reported any broken bones, or ribs or anything of that nature yet. I am sure he knows we're thinking of him. Redban, thank you another cool response. I think that's laid that thought to rest. It was nagging me for ages! I think hindsight is a wonderful tool to have at our disposal. We see how this show has grown since those early days, and too have seen negative comments about the current S15 ending. I always categorically stated that I never wanted either or both brothers to die even if it were a type of Butch and Sundance as J2 had hoped for themselves. I also remember the hype after watching it live when Sam did come back from hell under that lamp post. My feelings were through the roof. Many say S1 - 5 are the show's golden years, and have heard this said world wide many times since. There is I guess a grain of truth in there somewhere. However, some of the best season arc's have come flooding back into my memory since too. We had some great, strong writers who I feel delivered. I fondly remember Demon Dean; The first Blade, Purgatory, The Tablets, I can go on... I remember over on the days of IMDb Charlie was nicknamed Robbie Thompsons Mary Sue, the posts never seemed to stop moaning about her. At times I did sympathise with her like when she visited her mother in hospital for example. But I never got Charlie as the Winchester Sister. As for Bella Talbot I must have been one of the few who did get her. I get why she made the deal with the demon because she was abused. I felt her ending was so very sad and the boys didn't help to save her. I think Bella did get a lot of flack sorry to say. She was sassy, and got away with winding Sam and Dean up particularly over the lottery cards that she stole and the rabbit foot. She was a master of disguise.
