As for Morph, although it hasn't been addressed I'm willing to speculate that Sinister's experiments on Morph during the original series enhanced his abilities.
I hope, if nothing else, they explain the vastly different look at some point.
You're referring to the original strain of the Techno-Organic Virus as created by Apocalypse in the Time Fugitives two parter.
Clearly the strain that baby Nathan is exposed to in Fire Made Flesh was created by Mister Sinister.

Aside from the CGI as mentioned above I feel this movie & Blade II hold up really well. Trinity was pretty meh but I'll still watch it.
