Confirm: the movie is great! Steven Spielberg loved The Fall Guy

I still have no faith in director David Leitch, he made terrible movies: Bullet Train, Hobbs & Shaw, Atomic Blonde.

reply

I have no confidence in Spielberg's opinion. Every movie he directed after Saving Private Ryan has sucked.

reply

His seal of approval is like when they stamp Stephen King's review blurb on the cover of somebody's book. It means it sucks and they need extra help selling it.

reply

yep

reply

I thought Munich was excellent.

reply

Catch me if you can is awesome.

reply

I thought that Bullet Train, Hobbs & Shaw and Atomic Blonde were fun movies. Nothing more. I will definitely check out The Fall Guy when it's released.

reply

I generally like his movies. Except for Atomic Blonde though I didn't hate it.

reply

The same. I thought Bullet Train was excellent.

reply

I thought Bullet Train was uneven, but had its moments. The Fall Guy is excellent, and the sort of movie I'd love to see Hollywood get back to making.

reply

Considering his movies have high 6's and low to mid 7's, I say this movie will be decently good.

reply

Yeah he’s a pretty solid director when it comes to popcorn movies.

When has Spielberg ever said a recently released film is bad? A filmmaker criticizing a just-released movie is not only ill-mannered, but it invites retaliation. Spielberg is like Cruise: an ambassador and a political actor. The old joke in Hollywood is that if you've seen a movie and liked it, you praise it as great (i.e., better than you thought it was). If you've seen a movie and didn't like it, then, when asked, you say you haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Hence the first sentence of this post.

reply

Anytime someone famous comes out before a movie’s release and says it is excellent, I just assume the movie is crap.
