Could a more peaceful solution have been found if Moses had played his cards differently?


I think that Ramses was angry partly because he realized that Moses had come back only to set the Hebrews free; he felt his stepbrother, the only family he had left, didn't care about him.

What if Moses had worded his request like this: "I can return to the palace and we can be like we used to be. Just stop enslaving my people. Let them stay in Egypt as free people."

Do you think Ramses could be convinced that way?

Actually, no.
Not only was Ramses unable see why slavery was wrong since he was raised to become a pharaoh.
That wouldn't be expected either.
But it was also clear that Moses was on a mission from God and couldn't say or do what he wanted.
